A free, open platform built for community water data

Water Rangers hosts a free platform where communities share water monitoring data from around the world. Explore observations, track changes in waterways, or contribute results from your own monitoring. Every observation is carefully structured with rich metadata so it can connect to larger water data systems and support real decision-making.

The freshwater data gap

In many places, we simply don’t know. Across much of the world, waterways lack enough monitoring data to understand whether they’re healthy. In Canada alone, more than 75% of sub-watersheds are considered data-poor. Through projects like the Watershed Reports in Canada, collaborations like CaSTCo in the United Kingdom, and our open data platform, Water Rangers is helping communities and researchers build a clearer picture of freshwater health.

J'étais en voyage la semaine dernière et j'ai pris le kit Water Ranger que j'ai emprunté sur la route avec notre famille. Les enfants se sont bien amusés à échantillonner à la rivière Grand!
