Our educational collaborators

Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition (COLC)

Water Rangers is proud to partner with the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition (COLC) in championing water-ocean-climate literacy for all! Together, we support initiatives like Blue Schools Canada and Ocean Week Canada, offering educators and students immersive experiences that deepen their understanding of ocean and freshwater ecosystems.

Blue Schools Canada, a UNESCO Greening Education partner, supports educators in integrating ocean, water, and climate concepts into their classrooms. Through the program, teachers can access resources, funding opportunities, and enriching experiences—like using our Water Quality Educational Testkit alongside COLC’s giant floor map, which showcases the interconnectedness of our waterways for a hands-on learning experience that raises awareness about water-ocean-climate issues and inspires local action.

What’s with water? by Scouts Canada

Discover the various types of water sources around your town, city, or community. Scouts Canada with Water Rangers designed an activity to explore our data platform where users can share details about their local waterways, including temperature, pH levels, and water conductivity. What insights will you gain about your water? Find the activity here.

This resource bundle allows students to explore the traits of a Change Maker by examining the work of Kat Kavanagh, Water Rangers’ founder and Executive director. Kat has been advocating for community science and water quality through Water Rangers since 2015. By learning about Kat’s career and the initiatives she has spearheaded, students will have the opportunity to become Change Makers themselves through a hands-on learning activity. This bundle is unique because it provides two learning activity options, and students can choose to complete one or both! Find the downloadable bundle here.
