About our collaboration
Our collaboration with the Vancouver Aquarium and Ocean Diagnostics aims to empower educators and students with hands-on tools for monitoring water quality and microplastics. Together, we support environmental stewardship through engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage students to take action in their communities. With the tools to test for parameters like pH, temperature, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen, learners can engage in meaningful scientific investigations and explore our open data platform.
Ocean Diagnostics’ Microplastics Educational Toolkit adds to the experience by guiding students through microplastics sampling and data analysis, using scientific protocols and machine-learning based technology. This approach helps students understand how microplastics end up in our waterways and the ocean, highlighting the environmental impact of microplastics and the need for innovative solutions.
