Description
The adapter is 3D printed from PETG and attaches to the end of your Water Rangers reacher stick. Just clip a Whirl-Pak bag into the adapter, pull the tabs to open it, and reach out into the water. Dip the open bag below the surface, let it fill, and bring it back in. Then close and seal the bag as usual. Your hands never touch the water or the inside of the bag, which keeps your sample sterile from start to finish.
It’s perfect for E. coli testing with R-Cards, collecting samples for a lab, or any other test where a clean sample matters. Our reacher stick extends from 20 cm to a whopping 110 cm, so you can sample from docks, piers, and shorelines without wading in. That makes life a lot easier in cold weather or at sites with soft, mucky bottoms!
PETG is a tough, lightweight plastic that stands up well to sun, water, and the occasional bump against a dock. It’s easy to rinse off between sites, and since the adapter only holds the outside of the bag, it doesn’t need to be sterile itself.
A few tips from us: point the opening of the bag into the current if there is one, so the water flows into it rather than past your stick first. Try to sample about 15 to 30 cm below the surface, since the very top layer can hold floating debris that doesn’t reflect the rest of the water. And take a look at where you’re standing before you reach out. Safety comes first, so keep your footing solid and sample with a buddy when you can.
