Certification course
This course will take you through the essential skills and safety tips needed to become a certified Water Ranger! This course is for folks using the Water Rangers tools to collect data. If your organization uses other tools to collect data, you should ask your group’s administrator how to get certified! They can change your certification status on your profile on the data platform.
If you’re exclusively using Water Rangers tools to collect data, then go ahead and complete the course! It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Within a week of successfully completing this training, you’ll see “Certified in the Water Rangers protocol” on your app profile. You need to answer 75% of the questions correctly to get certified. You can take this quiz more than once if needed.
This certification goes through all the elements of our Freshwater Explorer testkit. If you have another testkit, there might be information about water quality tests that aren’t in your testkit.
Make sure to use the email associated with your Water Rangers account to complete the certification.
Bonus questions can be answered by digging a bit further and reading our training on our website. They don’t count towards your overall score.
We’ve also provided an educator’s copy of the course, so that educators can administer it to their students. Once students complete the course, you can hand them our printable Certified Water Ranger certificate!
