Lessons
We’ve created some helpful lessons to help you use the tools in your kit in different ways. All of our lessons have an indoor and outdoor component, so no matter where you are you can learn about water quality! We’ve separated our lessons into three main categories:
Tried one of our lessons?
Let us know what you think! We are never “finished” learning or growing — these resources are a living document and will always be in development as long as we receive feedback!
Send us feedback, photos, or ideas!- Water Rangers equipment: Learn to use the different tools in your Education testkit. These lessons explore how you can use your tools to create connections to the real world, and how to use your tools in indoor and outdoor settings.
- Ocean, water, climate: Learn more about how our freshwater systems are connected to the global ocean. Every lesson includes a section that connects it to the global ocean. We’ve also designed lessons to help learner’s understanding of the ocean.
- Tackling eco-anxiety: We worked with Brila to deliver activities that help students talk about eco-anxiety. Action has been shown to reduce eco-anxiety, we therefore provide suggestions of projects they can do.
You can choose to do the lessons in succession over multiple days, at a convenient time, or teach either part as a standalone lesson. The activities are presented as small group activities to facilitate and encourage active participation. At the bottom of each lesson, you will find a section on connections to the news and a glossary of terms.
