Want to get testing but don’t know where to start? Or maybe you’re planning a water science unit for your class and want a special activity to give them a hands on conservation experience.

Either way, an educational workshop with Water Rangers will provide you with knowledge and skills to kickstart your water testing journey! Our workshops are a great fit for students from Grades 5-12, environment clubs, youth groups, or homeschool circles, and are equally as effective online or in person. Virtual training course for teachers

This course will take you through the essential skills and safety tips needed to become a certified Water Ranger! It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Within a week of successfully completing this training, you’ll see “Certified in the Water Rangers protocol” on your app profile. You need to answer 75% of the questions correctly to get certified. You can take this quiz more than once if needed.

This certification goes through all the elements of our Freshwater Explorer testkit. If you have another testkit, there might be information about water quality tests that aren’t in your testkit.

Make sure to use the email associated with your Water Rangers account to complete the certification.

Bonus questions can be answered by digging a bit further and reading our training on our website. They don’t count towards your overall score.

Certification course

I went to the Toronto Islands Public school and did some water sampling with three Water Ranger kits with 26 first graders along with several parents and their teacher Biz Arends. This was very exciting for everyone, and the kids were able to learn about the waters right outside their school. The Kits were a great hit, and all the instruments and testing devices were easy to grasp by these young children. The kit was also passed to other grades to see if there were opportunities for old classes to plan for testing the water in warmer weather and doing some scientific studies.
