Shipping to the United States: what to expect

Cross-border shipping & tariffs for U.S. customers

Our U.S. pricing reflects increased cross-border costs. We are doing our best to make sure that there are no surprises, but as the situation changes regularly, we appreciate your understanding as we navigate this changing environment!

Water Rangers testkits are assembled in Canada using a mix of North American and globally sourced components. Wherever possible, we prioritize Canadian and American suppliers. Our testkits qualify as Canadian-made under USMCA requirements and ship to the U.S. tariff-free under that agreement.

Under current U.S. rules, all shipments entering the United States are subject to customs processing, even if they fall under USMCA. As a result, the cost of moving goods across the border has increased. Postal shipments may be assessed the current global tariff (currently 10%, with the potential to increase to 15%) on orders under $800, and private couriers typically charge brokerage fees for customs clearance.

While our finished kits qualify under USMCA, some individual components sold separately may not. If you are purchasing individual parts and would like clarification on potential tariff charges, please contact us. Trade policy and enforcement interpretations are evolving rapidly, and requirements can change.

How we ship to the U.S.

To reduce unexpected processing charges for you the customer, we ship most U.S. orders via Canada Post (handed off to USPS). This approach streamlines customs handling and our experience is that it typically avoids the brokerage fees that can apply to certain courier ground services.

Trade rules and tariff policies continue to evolve. We actively monitor updates and work to ensure our documentation and product classifications remain accurate and compliant. If you would like clarification on expected customs treatment, potential tariffs, or shipping options for your order, please contact us. We are happy to provide the most up-to-date information available.
