Good News! Shipping to the United States: an update on the August 19 tariff changes

Back in March, we wrote about how cross-border shipping and tariffs work for our U.S. customers. Trade policy keeps moving, and starting August 19, new tariffs of 50% are coming into effect for many goods entering the United States. We wanted to give you a quick, honest update on what this means for your Water Rangers order.

The good news: our testkits should not be affected!

Water Rangers testkits are assembled in Canada and qualify as Canadian-made under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), so they continue to ship to the U.S. tariff-free under that agreement. For most orders under $800, the applicable postal tariff stays at 10%. We take care of all of that on our end, so there should be no surprises waiting for you.

For larger orders, we ship through a private carrier like FedEx or UPS. We handle the tariff and brokerage paperwork on our side, so you can order with confidence.

If you’re purchasing individual components on their own rather than a full kit, the picture can look a little different. Some parts may not qualify under USMCA on their own, and could be subject to the new tariff. If you’d like clarification before you order, please contact us and we’ll walk through it with you.

Trade rules keep changing quickly, and we’re watching closely so you don’t have to. We’ll keep this page updated as things develop. As always, if you have questions about what to expect for your order, reach out and we’ll share the most current information we have.

Take care,
The Water Rangers team!
